Help Spread Awareness of Oral Cancer!
Oral cancer kills more people a year than many other more widely known forms of cancer, including skin cancer, lymphoma, thyroid, and cervical cancer. Over the next year some where around 45,000 people in the United States will be newly diagnosed with oral cancer. In the U.S a person dies from oral cancer every hour of every day.
Early Detection is Key!
If detected early the survival rate for oral cancer can be double than if a diagnosis is made in a later stage. More than 40% of those diagnosed with oral cancer die within five years. Start by knowing your risks. Risk factors that raise your risk of oral cancer include tobacco, alcohol, and HPV. HPV is on the rise and many are unaware it can raise your risk of oral cancer. Any combination of these risk factors greatly increase a persons risk of developing oral cancer.
