We are now offering a new service
at Mashni Dentistry. Most have
heard of the name Invisalign- a series of clear,
removable teeth aligners. We
wanted to give you more information about why this service is being added and
why you might be a good candidate.
Why are we starting to offer Invisalign?
As practice that focuses on health
promotion and reduction of disease we see Invisalign as an additional service
we can offer our patients to help you reach your goals. As a dentist I hear our
hygienists and myself say something to the effect of “well, there was a lot of
plaque build-up on those teeth because they are so hard to clean because of all
the crowding.” We tend to give you
a “pass” because of your God given anatomy. Unfortunately, the progression of gum disease and the
bacteria themselves don’t give you this same pass. The research shows that areas of crowding do accumulate not
only more- but more harmful bacteria, along with seeing faster progression of
gum disease. Invisalign is a tool
to help with areas of crowding to allow for better cleansability and improve
your oral health.
Invisalign is of course a tool to
move teeth. This offers other
benefits cosmetically and also can aid us as dentists to be more conservative
in our treatment. By being able to
move teeth we can address your concerns with you smile. Additionally, we can utilize Invisalign
to move teeth to positions so that we don't have to remove as much tooth
structure when we prepare the teeth for a conservative veneer, filling or
crown.
Can you benefit from Invisalign?
If you fall into any of the categories below you should
consult with one of our doctors as to the benefit that Invisalign could have
for you.
- You notice your teeth are crowded and difficult to keep clean even with a good oral hygiene routine.
- Your hygienist or dentist has previously talked to you about crowding of your teeth making brushing and flossing more difficult.
- You notice spacing in your front teeth that you are unhappy with.
- You are unhappy with your smile.
- You are interested in learning what can be done with this clear removable retainer.
As we begin to offer these services we will be offering it
at a greatly reduced price for all of our patients that are interested. Of course our dentists will review each
patient’s situation and the best course of treatment will be discussed. Not all
patients will be good candidates for this service.
If you would like more information you can ask us at your
next appointment or we would be happy to set up a time to consult with one of
our doctors. Give us a call today at 517-351-1733!
